Description
This wind cap keeps your pipe tobacco in the bowl so you can enjoy your pipe even on the windiest days! Historically, these were an invention of great use in the maritime sea trade. Mariners often enjoyed pipes aboard ships but there was always the danger that an errant spark from burning tobacco could cause a powder magazine to explode, or set fire to straw and other flammable materials below decks. Smoking a tobacco pipe unsafely was a flogging offense on many ships!
To prevent sparks from being carried by the wind, some bright spark (pardon the pun) invented the pipe wind cap. Simply pinch the pins to adjust the tension bars, then seat on top of the bowl. Works like a charm.
