2026 is an auspicious year for Brigham Enterprises as it marks their 120th anniversary. Victory Pipes has managed to secure some of the limited release pipe tobacco that was blended to mark this milestone. The following description from Brigham tells all you need to know about this blend:
"Over the past century, Brigham has continuously evolved. What began as a humble three-person operation making and repairing pipes grew into Canada’s largest manufacturer of pipes, later expanding into pipe tobacco and accessories, and ultimately becoming one of Canada’s premier distributors of Premium Cigars.
Our journey has always been guided by simple principles: evolving with the times while remaining grateful for the partners, colleagues, and customers who have helped shape us along the way. In celebration of this milestone anniversary, we are proud to introduce CXX GRATUS.
CXX Gratus Pipe Tobacco is a truly unique project developed in collaboration with Master Blender Jeremy Reeves. As with the CXX Gratus cigar, this blend began with Dark Fired Kentucky as the muse. From there, we set out to create a blend that would surprise and delight. Our goal was to marry the rich barbecue character of Dark Fired Kentucky with the natural plum and fig notes on the initial impression, followed by waves of evolving flavour and complexity.
Virginia, Burley, and Dark Fired Kentucky tobaccos were combined with Perique, Turkish small-leaf tobacco, and a touch of Black Cavendish to bring this vision to life. Each of the component tobaccos was crafted and aged, blended, pressed into a plug, aged again and sliced.
Out of the tin, the barbecue notes and plum-like aroma will surprise and delight. As it’s smoked, each of the main tobaccos gets its moment to shine in a strong but smooth, exciting progression. This blend is unlike anything else, and we believe it’s a fitting nod to our history and tradition of offering unique, high-quality tobaccos for the Canadian pipe smoker."
