Description
This flagship tobacco is named for the Rapparee, Irish guerilla fighters of the Williamite war. It is a dark, full bodied, spicy mixture of Virginias, Orientals, and Black Cavendish with generous amounts of Latakia. Red Virginias impart the blend with an iconic red tinge. Charles Rattray said of the blend that it “burns in the pipe with the spontaneity of a fine cigar”. Red Rapparee provides a great introduction into the world of Scottish mixtures. 50g tin. Note: these are now shipping in plain packaging.
About Rattray's Pipe Tobacco
After studying and blending tobacco for years, Charles Rattray opened up The House of Rattray in Perth, Scotland in 1903. The success of the shop shot forward at an incredible rate, and in no time at all Charles and his tobacco blends became the go-to for serious pipe smokers across the British Isles. To this day, many of these blends rank among the best in the world.
