In our quest to find the best value in tobacco pipes, we stumbled across a series of production pipes from Brigham. When Brigham decides to launch a new pipe, they work from the drawings and gradually get to the point where several dozen production pipes are created. These are like prototypes; they may differ slightly from the final release, but they are awfully close. Often, the pipes are stamped with a “P” to denote the fact that these are prototypes.
This pipe is the prototype for the Brigham 2011 Pipe of the Year. The pipe is a bent egg from the Mountaineer finish class and has three dots on the stem. This is a system pipe, meaning that the pipe uses the Brigham Rock Maple Insert (or Distillator) filter system. Each pipe has the same shape but due to the freehand cut around the bowl, no two are exactly alike. If you like a large capacity pipe bowl then this pipe may be just for you; the bowls on each of these pipes average 2” deep (50mm) and have a decent diameter. Clearly, the 2011 Pipe of the Year holds more tobacco than an average pipe.
Lastly, because we were able to strike a great deal on these pipes, we’re passing the savings along to you. The original 2011 Brigham Pipe of the Year retailed for over $300; we’re offering them at $149.99. Quantities are limited and once these are gone, they’ll never be back.

About Brigham Pipes
Brigham Pipes is the oldest name in Canadian tobacco pipe manufacturing. After apprenticing with an Austrian pipe maker and developing an interest in pipes, Roy Brigham started his own pipe repair shop in 1906 on Adelaide Street in Toronto. Today, the company is Canada’s leading smoking pipe manufacturer and through its Italian supplier it produces more than 75% of all the smoking pipes made in Canada. Brigham tobacco pipes all feature the patented rock maple insert, a pipe filter system which was developed to reduce tongue bite in smoking pipes. And every Brigham smoking pipe exhibits excellent old-world craftsmanship and reliability.
